Swiss Mr. Pickwick T20 Cup - 1st round update

With just one match to go, the first round of the Swiss Mr. Pickwick T20 Cup has almost been completed.

Cup holders Power got off to a perfect start in their 1st round match against United. After United won the toss they put Power into bat, Power amassing 235 runs in their 20 overs for the loss of just 4 wickets. Shahnawaz Muhammad scoring an unbeaten 143. In reply United were dismissed for 76 handing Power a 169 run victory and putting them well on course for their 4th successive Pickwick Cup title.

Meanwhile in the other 1st round matches Basel Dragons lost by six wickets to Winterthur, only the second time that Winterthur have advanced passed the initial stages of this competition. Basel Dragons managed only 47 runs in their innings which Winterthur reached with the loss of just 4 batsmen, thus winning the match by 6 wickets. A match report is available here.

Royal, Olten, Geneva XI Stars & Uprising all glided through to the second round compliments of a 1st round bye, while the Geneva Colts beat Geneva International after they were forced to forfeit their 1st round match.

The first round will be completed when Zug play against Schaffhausen on Sunday May 27th at Buchholz, Uster.
