2013 Swiss Mr. Pickwick T20 Cricket Cup

The draw

Welcome to the new format for the Swiss Mr. Pickwick Cup T20 Cup.

The Swiss Mr. Pickwick Cup T20 Cup continues to evolve, and this year the competition takes on a new & improved as follows:

Regional groups play-off (round-robin) for qualification to semi-finals guaranting a minimum number of games (dependent on no. of teams in a group)
Size of groups to be defined once participating teams are known
Group places decided on points (net run-rate if points are equal)
2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie or rained-off matches
A minimum of 10 overs in each innings has to have been played in order to reach a result
Prize money: CHF1'000 winners, CHF500 Runners-up, CHF250 3rd place
Match day officials and cricket balls supplied by the tournament organisers
FINAL: Trophies, ground fees, lunches, balls, VIP hosting financed through sponsorship/donations.

In order to assist in financing this new format a competition fee of CHF150 per club will be levied.

Fixtures & Results

The date and venue for Swiss Mr. Pickwick T20 Cricket Cup matches has to be organised by the participating teams, before Swiss Federation of Umpires & Scorers (swissFOCUS) can allocate officials.

The Final

The Swiss Mr. Pickwick T20 Cricket Cup will take place on Sunday 29th September at the Marzili Cricket Ground in Berne starting at 2.30pm (immediately proceeding the 3rd/4th place play-off).

Competition rules

The Swiss Mr. Pickwick Cup T20 Cup is played using the SCA league rules with the following amendments:
1. FIELDING RESTRICTIONS
No more than five fielders are permitted on the leg side. Penalty is a no-ball. There is no inner circle.
2. BOWLING RESTRICTIONS
Max. 4 overs per bowler.
3. THE BALL
The tournament organisers will provide the ball for both innings.
4. OFFICIALS
The tournament organizers will arrange & provide umpires but scorers are the responsibility of each team & published on www.swisscricket.ch/seniors/pickwick-t20-cup
5. FIXTURES/RESULTS

Two points will are awarded for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for aloss. Group places decided on points (net run-rate if points are equal).

A minimum of 10 overs in each innings has to have been played in order to reach a result.
